The theme that day: The question that isn't yours to answer
The theme of the day
Somewhere in your orbit right now there is a task, a problem, or a decision that has quietly migrated to you without anyone officially asking. It might be a situation belonging to a colleague who hands things off better than they resolve them. It might be someone in your personal life who brings the same difficulty to you repeatedly because you engage with it and they don’t have to. Aries moves decisively toward things that need solving. That quality is real and it helps people. But it also makes you easy to route problems toward.
The specific thing worth sitting with today is whether there is weight you’ve been carrying without being asked. Not something you chose because you care about the outcome, but something that simply landed in your hands because you picked it up once and kept picking it up. There’s a version of this that’s genuine generosity, and that’s fine. But there’s another version where you’re solving things for someone else while your own priorities wait in a queue that never quite clears.
This isn’t a push toward pulling back or resenting the people around you. It’s a simpler prompt: check whose problem you’re currently holding. The question sounds easy. It isn’t always easy to answer honestly.
The money lens
At work, this pattern has a concrete shape. It’s the project that migrated to your desk because you were available and the original owner wasn’t managing it. It’s the decision nobody else would make, so you made it, and now you’re accountable for it without the authority that should have come with the accountability. It’s the scope that expands into your lane because you’re good at catching what others miss.
The question isn’t whether you’re capable of absorbing it. You clearly are. The question is whether the additional weight shows up somewhere in what you receive in return. If not, the problem isn’t your competence. It’s the arrangement.
What to notice today
Notice today when something unrelated to you gets placed in your hands, literally or figuratively. There’s usually a small window in that moment, just before you take it, where a different response was available. You don’t have to act on it. Just noticing the window is enough to start with.
Also notice if there’s a low background hum of something that feels like frustration without a clear target. That’s often what it feels like when you’ve been giving without any kind of agreement in place, and the giving has accumulated past a threshold you didn’t consciously set.
A grounding line
You can be genuinely helpful without being the person every loose end gets routed to. Noticing the difference is the first step.
